How engagements start, how we work alongside your team, and what to expect on fees, results and confidentiality.
Getting started
What does Shermand do?
Shermand is a management consulting firm that helps growing businesses reach the next level of size, efficiency and profitability. We work across six areas: growth strategy and diagnostics, transformation and digitalization, operations and processes, data and performance, marketing and customer acquisition, and people and culture.
We start by understanding the business, agree on the few changes that matter most, and then help implement them alongside your team. We also provide fractional CMO, CTO and CIO leadership.
Explore our servicesWhat size of business do you work with?
Our focus is mid-sized businesses, typically between 20 and 500 people, with ambitions bigger than their current operation. We also work with founders building the foundations for growth, and with larger organizations and divisions that need a structured improvement program.
Which industries do you work in?
Our approach applies to any business where processes, data, customers and people drive results. Our case studies include construction, equipment distribution, logistics and vehicle shipping, contact centers and BPO, home services, luxury manufacturing, technology services, recruitment, marketing agencies and nonprofits.

It starts with a conversation about where the business is today and where you want it to go. If there is a fit, we propose a diagnostic or a scoped engagement in writing, with objectives, deliverables, timing and fees agreed before any work begins.
If you would like a quick first view of your own, our free Growth Readiness Scorecard takes about three minutes.

A diagnostic is a fixed-scope assessment of the business through interviews, process walk-throughs and analysis of your own data. You receive ranked constraints, an estimate of the value at stake, and a prioritized roadmap.
For most mid-sized companies it takes a few weeks. The exact timing depends on the size of the business and how readily the data is available, and it is agreed in the proposal.
How our approach worksWorking together
Do you only give advice, or do you also implement?
We implement. Recommendations are only the first step: we redesign processes with the people who run them, help select and roll out systems, set up KPIs and review routines, and support the change until the results are measurable and your team can sustain them.
Who will actually work on our project?
Senior consultants work directly on your engagement, not only at the sales stage. Where a project needs specific expertise, such as a technology platform, a marketing channel or recruiting for a specialist role, we bring in experienced specialists from our network, coordinated by a single lead who remains accountable to you.
Do you work on-site or remotely?
Both, depending on what the work needs. Process walk-throughs, workshops and leadership sessions often benefit from being on-site, while analysis, reviews and follow-up work well remotely. The mix is agreed at the start of each engagement.
How does a fractional CMO, CTO or CIO work?
A fractional executive joins your leadership team part-time, owns the function, and builds it: the plan, the budget, the team, the vendors and the reporting. The time commitment is agreed up front, typically a set number of days per week or a monthly retainer, and adjusted as needs change.
When the business is ready, the fractional leader helps define the permanent role, hire the right person and hand over.
About fractional leadershipWill you work with our existing team, agencies and vendors?
Yes. We work alongside your people and build their capability as we go, so improvements continue after the engagement ends. We also work with your existing agencies, software vendors and advisors, and can help you direct them more effectively.
Fees, results and confidentiality
How much does it cost?
Fees depend on the scope: a diagnostic, a defined project, a multi-workstream program, ongoing advisory, or a fractional leadership role. Every engagement is scoped and priced in writing before it starts, so you know what you will receive and what it will cost.
How do you measure results?
We agree on targets at the start, based on a baseline from the diagnostic: for example lead time, cost per order, conversion rate, margin or employee turnover. Progress is reported against those targets throughout the engagement, including when something is not working.
Do you sell or recommend particular software?
We are vendor-neutral. We have no vendor partnerships or resale commissions, so tools and systems are recommended only when they are the best answer to the problem, and often the first recommendation is to simplify the process rather than buy software.
How do you handle confidential information?
Your figures, plans and people are handled with discretion from the first conversation. Confidentiality terms are agreed in writing before an engagement starts, and interviews with your team are treated confidentially. Please avoid sending sensitive documents through the website forms; we will agree a secure way to share them.
Read our Privacy PolicyCan we speak to past clients or see more detail on your case studies?
Our case studies describe real businesses we have served, with names and sensitive information withheld to protect our clients. More detail, and references where clients agree, can be shared on request during our conversations.
